Moon Landing

July 20 marks the 54th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo 11 mission, which saw the first person to walk on the moon. This monumental achievement goes beyond Neil Armstrong’s famous line, however; hundreds of people worked together as a team to make the mission happen. Listed below are a number of recommended reading titles for adults and youth to explore the history of the mission, and the men and women who made it possible.

Want to experience space exploration for yourself? Stop by the library on Monday, July 24 for Library After Dark: Moon Over Grayslake to view the moon, stars, and planets above with the Lake County Astronomical Society. You can also check out a telescope for use at home!
